INVERNESS HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

INVERNESS HIGH SCHOOL NEWS 7/1/09
FROM THE HIGH SCHOOL PREFECTS

MUSICAL THEATRE
Our musical theatre group performed a variety of songs from the show ‘Annie’, in their costumes, in the Town House on the 18th of December. The songs were ‘I Think I’m Gonna Like it Here’ (performed by the cast), ‘Easy Street’ (Performed by Connor Fraser, Megan Wemyss and Kadee Fraser) and ‘The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow’ (performed by ‘Annie’ played by Sadie Stoddart). The choir also performed ‘La Bamba’, and ‘Here I am to Worship’. There were also some solo musical performances. The performers put on a great show, and did the High School proud!

S2 LEADERSHIP GROUP
The second year leadership group ‘Action S2’ sold Candy Canes at the end of terms. The idea was to buy one for your friends, tell the organisers who it’s for and what class they’re in, and they were then given out on the last day of term! The group raised over £40, which they want to put towards equipment for their radio show which they are planning at the moment.

CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Christmas dance for S4-S6 was held on the 17th December. It was a great night with over 70 young people turning up, with the girls all in gorgeous dresses, and we even had a few boys in kilts! We had a live band headed up by one of our music teachers, Mr Webster, which really made the night special. A big thank you to Tesco Extra who kindly donated us a 10 foot Christmas tree, and Marks and Spencers who also donated us £25 towards the party, which we used to help decorate the Games Hall. Thank you very much to them!
We are now looking forward to planning an S1-S3 party for when our Assembly Hall re-opens…watch this space!

REAL PROJECT
The young people involved with the REAL Project worked hard at the end of last term to pack hampers and Christmas orders.
Training has just started for the new group of young people wanting to become involved with the project. So far this is going really well, and we have a big group who are really keen to get into REAL!
